Dai Riki/ Hook Review

Would you share your opinions on Dai Riki hooks with me? I'm looking for some decent straight-eye scud/emerger hooks.
Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Dai Riki/ Hook Review

Not too familiar with Dai Riki but for straight eye emerger/scud  I like the TMC 2488 and the Diiachi 1150 .  There's many waaaay better tier's on the site than I so hopefully they'll chime in with more info for you .

I've seen his work and will second that..

I use Mustad Signature myself for a scud hook but that's more a factor of availability than preference. Never had a problem with them but they're a down eye hook.

Re: Dai Riki/ Hook Review

I use some Dai Riki hooks for big stonefly patterns I use out west (can't remember the code) and they seem pretty decent.  The plating is a bit bright for my liking, though I can't say whether or not that has any impact on the fly's performance.  For scud hooks though, I use Tiemco 2457 or for dries tied on that shape ninja the Mustad C49S
