It's been such a gloomy winter so far with very few days with light enough to make photography worth while...for birds anyway. I had cabin fever bad lately but got off my butt this AM and braved the cold ayway.
I never did get a well-lit shot last year but finally this morning my drive was worth while. With tears in my eyes due to the COLD and WIND mixed with a bit of sleet (+ I had to walk 14 miles uphill ...both ways with no shoes )
I managed to snap a few after this Eagle tried to give me the slip while warming my fingers in the car.
This son-of-a-gun wouldn't fly when I was close he just sat there watching me freeze, so I did have to crop the shot but I'm OK with it anyway. I know they are like buzzards for you guys out west but still a rarity here.
Cheers
P.S. I quit smoking on Jan 1st so Cabin fever has taken on a whole new dimension this year! Any bets to see how big I get? I quit at 180 ish.

Great shots! I don't know Jack about photography but you should think about sending those to Canadian Geographic or another publication of the sort.
Good luck with the smoking. 1 year for me Easter Monday.

Good luck with the non-smoking you'll get through it. So far I'm at 1 year 10 months...

Thanks guys for the Kudos on the shots and the support with quitting. I have smoked since...well lets say I had permission to smoke from 1974....a few years before that.
Triple C's the money's already spoken for, my darling wife says I can go fish Andros with Bonefish Charley if I like...I like.
She is THE BEST!

Stick with it. The feeling of beating it will have you flying higher than that eagle. The only smoke you'll see will be from a burned out drag on your bonefish reel!

Awesome shots Brian. I love seeing birds of prey when I'm out. Good luck with the smoking, I'm off them for 28 years now. I smoked three packs a day when I quit and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. Stick with it one day at a time.
